Friday, September 4, 2015
Almost 500 Zumba enthusiasts of Cotabato City converged last night at ORG Compound to commemorate the International Human Rights Day (IHRD). The event did not just aim to promote human rights through a healthy activity but also to raise funds for the benefit of the IDPs in Zamboanga.
Chris Everingham, Team Captain of the Philippine Volcanoes, shared some health tips to the crowd and subsequently led the warm up exercise. This was immediately followed by the Zumba proper led by two of the finest Zumba Instructors from Manila, Mr. Marc Balatucan and Ms. Shirley Aquino.
Tagahabi fire dancers figuratively and literally set the stage on fire as they wowed the crowd with their exhilarating performance.
Despite the heavy rain, the people’s desire to stretch and sweat and to help the IDPs remained ablaze.
The Zumba Fitness Craze: A Concert for A Cause is one of the several activities conducted by the Regional Human Rights Commission in line with the commemoration of the International Human Rights Day.
This year’s theme is “Human Rights 365” which signifies that every day is human rights day.
