RHRC and NCMF serve 346 IDPs during Legal Mission
Thursday, July 27, 2017
As per monitoring of the Marawi Crisis and Martial Law in Mindanao, it was found out that one of the problems is the lack of civil documents. This is a basic human rights concern, the right to identity.
Thus, the Regional Human Rights Commission, ARMM in partnership with National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) conducted a legal mission on July 20, 2017 which became an avenue to issue certificate of tribal membership to Muslim Filipino Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in West Poblacion, Balo-i, Lanao del Norte.
The team managed to serve 346 IDPs. Most of the served are IDPs from Barangays of Papandayan, Madaya and Guimba, Marawi City.
The success of the activity was not only because of the joint effort of RHRC and NCMF but also because of the help of the West Poblacion Balo-I LGU, BPATs and volunteers.
